Nursery Mission Statement The Mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood Nursery is to serve the church and the local community by providing a welcoming, safe, loving and nurturing environment that promotes and shares the love of Christ through curriculum, play and creative expression. Curriculum The curriculum we use at the FPCH Nursery is Gospel Light's Baby Beginnings appropriated for children from birth to 36 months. We are excited to share with you and your children the work of Gospel Light's toddler and preschool curriculum and to work together in raising the next generation of believers. Sunday School The Hollywood Presbyterian Church Nursery is a safe place on our campus where children are cared for while their parents are involved in other activities. Parents Night Out Parents Night Out takes place one Saturday night each month. Children enjoy free play, crafts, playground time, and watching a movie. Children under 2 years of age have their own room to play and staff to meet their needs. PNO is for all children. The cost is $25 per child with a max of $60 per family of 3 or more and registration and payment are required in advanced. See flyer for time and upcoming dates. Kids Play Day Kids Play Day is an opportunity for parents to leave their children at the Nursery on Thursday mornings from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We care for your children and introduce them to Jesus through music, stories, prayer and crafts. KPD is for children 4 years old and under and not currently attending preschool. The cost is $100 per 4-week session and registration and payment are required in advanced. Please bring a lunch and anything your child may need during the event. Mommy and Me Mommy and Me is a Christian based, early childhood discipleship program geared toward mothers and young children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old. Classes take place on Monday or Tuesday mornings. Each meeting time will include: opportunity to play with children of the same age, participate in circle time, and explore sensory and large motor activities while building community and learning vital citizenship skills. These skills will be developed through weekly theme-based curriculum. Parents will also particpate in a group discussion while their child explores a variety of theme-based activities. The 2009 - 2010 MOPS program at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood begins on September 16, 2009 and will run through May 19, 2010. We meet in The Cellar on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 9:00-11:30 am. Come enjoy a wonderful breakfast, encouraging speaker, special activities, and fellowship with other moms who face similar challenges and joys in parenting preschoolers. Childcare, including a dynamic curriculum for children, is offered for a nominal fee. We are currently accepting registration for Fall 2009 (Sept. 16, 2009 - Feb. 3, 2010) and Spring 2010 (Feb 17, 20110 - May 19, 2010). The registration fee is $50 per semester for each mom. Childcare is available for children (ages 5 and under) at a fee of $30 per semester for each child. Hollywood Presbyterian Children's Center As a ministry of Hollywood Presbyterian Church, the Children's Center gives parents in Hollywood and the surrounding areas the option of having their young children participate in a Christian early childhood program.
Our staff members are experienced early childhood educators who meet the State of California Department of Social Services requirements. They are dedicated Christians who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. We are located on the beautiful Hollywood Presbyterian Church campus with convenient freeway access. Fees are very reasonable and a variety of schedule options are offered. Because of the quality of our offering, the waiting list of often lengthy.
