ONC Title

The Officer Nominating Committee (ONC) is currently taking recommendations for Elder, Deacon and next year's Officer Nominating Committee. The ONC will prepare a slate of nominations, which will be voted on at the Annual Congregational Meeting. The ONC strives to select leaders who are dedicated to God, to the ministries of FPCH and represent the various age and interest groups in our congregation, so your input is valued. All nominees must have been active members of FPCH for at least three years. Elders and Deacons serve three-year terms. ONC members serve for one year. You can submit your nomination in two ways:

  1. Online: form can be submitted over the internet and is available online.
  2. Download and Print: form must be placed in an offering plate or at the receptionist's desk no later than the deadline listed below. Download

The deadline for submitting recommendations is Saturday, Jan. 10th.

Following are descriptions of the offices and qualifications.
Deacons, Class of 2013 15 vacancies
Description:
Deacons should be gifted in areas of service to the body of Christ and have a passion for helping people in need. They show God's love in tangible ways by ministering to peoples physical needs. Deacons provide food for the needy, visit the sick and homebound, host parties at local retirement homes and help with Communion. The Board of Deacons meets monthly.
  • Faithful follower of Jesus Christ
  • Active Member of FPCH for a minimum of 3 years
  • Gifted in areas of service to the body of Christ
  • Passion for helping people in need
  • Eager to spend the next 3 years proclaiming the good news through tangible expressions of God's love
Elders, Class of 2013 8 vacancies
Description:
Elders should be experienced in mobilizing and equipping people for ministry and have skills appropriate to the administration and governance of the church. Elders serve on committees that oversee the programs, facilities and finances of our church and serve Communion. Elders attend monthly Session meetings, committee meetings and periodic meetings of the Presbytery of the Pacific.
  • Faithful follower of Jesus Christ
  • Active Member of FPCH for a minimum of 3 years
  • Experienced in mobilizing and equipping people for ministry
  • Skills appropriate to the administration and governance of the church
  • Eager to spend the next 3 years strengthening and nurturing the ministry of FPCH!
Officer Nominating Committee 6 vacancies
Description:
Members should be able to identify qualified persons for nomination to church offices for the following year. Most of the ONC work takes place from December through March.
  • Faithful follower of Jesus Christ
  • Active Member of FPCH for a minimum of 3 years
  • Secure the names of qualified persons who should be considered for nomination
  • Prepare slates of nominees for all three offices
